The search service provides access to the database of patent applications and patents published and granted in Morocco. The search can be performed in the database with free access.
Why doing a search in patent databases?
- To check the novelty of your invention;
- To avoid infringe the patents of a third party;
- To estimate the value of your patents or patents of other inventors;
- To follow technological trends in your field of activity and the future direction of commercial competitors
How to make a search in the Moroccan database patent
You can make your request regarding the following criteria:
Search by keywords
- Keyword in the title of the invention (example : solar car)
- Keyword in the abstract
Search by Classification
Among the most common classification systems, we can cite the IPC (International Patent Classification), which divides technology into 8 sections with approximately 70 000 subdivisions. Each subdivision is attributed to a symbol consisting of Arabic numerals and Latin characters.

B60L 8/00 is a IPC related to electric propulsion with power supply from force of nature, e.g. sun, wind.
Search by bibliographic data
Applicant, inventor, filing date, priority number ... etc.
Boolean operators (or, and, not) and truncation (? To replace a letter or a void, * to replace a variable length chain of characters, ...) can be used for relevant research.

The Moroccan publication server includes all patents and patents applications published and granted in Morocco. The research in the server can be performed by publication number, application number, IPC, and date of publication
These patents are also available in the service of Patentscope search (http://patentscope.wipo.int/) of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Espacenet platform (http: // worldwide. espacenet.com/) of the European Patent Office (EPO) and also in the regional platform of patents in the Arab countries "ArabPat" (www.arabpat.com).
